P.S. I'm constantly learning and refining my understanding of spiritual things. I don't like to mispeak, but I have many times, and I'm certain that I will do it again! I'm not the authority over truth, but I do claim the authority to speak my own truth and happily acknowledge your right to do the same!
Spoiler Alert: I believe "the line" is Authority: yours, mine, and God's authority all matter in matters of healing.
Two words come to mind when I consider spiritual v/s biological healing:
Attunement vs. Atonement:
Attunement is a real word! It refers to the process of becoming aware, aligned, or in harmony with something—whether it's your emotions, another person, or your environment. It’s often used in psychology, relationships, and even music to describe a sense of deep connection or alignment. For example:
- In relationships, attunement describes the ability to be aware of and respond to another person's emotional state.
- In self-awareness, it refers to tuning into your own thoughts, feelings, and inner processes.
Understanding the Layers of Healing
What Is Attunement?
Attunement is getting in tune with your emotions, thoughts, and beliefs. It’s the process of becoming aware of subconscious patterns, releasing emotional blocks, and finding harmony within yourself. This kind of healing focuses on engaging your conscious and subconscious mind, helping you:
- Recognize and process emotions that have been stuck or ignored.
- Replace limiting beliefs with empowering truths.
- Align with your authentic self and experience clarity and calm.
The Truth: Attunement is about emotional and mental clarity. It’s the first step in creating space for deeper spiritual growth, and it requires your engagement to make it effective.
What Is Atonement?
Atonement is the spiritual process of reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ. It’s not just about moral or spiritual healing; it’s about total transformation. The Atonement of Jesus Christ has the power to heal every kind of pain—physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual. Through His infinite sacrifice, Christ made it possible to:
The Truth: True spiritual healing is provided only through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. But accessing the Atonement doesn’t just happen—it requires our faith in Jesus Christ, a willingness to engage with God through prayer, and being humble enough to surrender our will, acknowledging His authority to heal us and help us. Our emotional wounds can make this hard- even as we seek spirituality we may find ourselves resisting, or distrusting. Is it any wonder? Spiritual Authority has been abused, misrepresented, wrongly taken and wrongly given. If any of this makes you cringe- you're not alone. This is why it's so empowering to know that spiritual truth and healing exists only through God's authority.
Attunement
You can do the work to come to yourself. Seek and find the truth of who you are- the orgin of you. Once you peel back the layers of what has been put upon you through life experiences or from observation of life around you, the truth about you can be partially restored to you. I say partially because the truth of you is not complete until you know where you came from! This is why I choose to differentiate between Attunement and Atonement.
How Attunement and Atonement Work Together
Attunement and atonement work beautifully together. The Atonement of Jesus Christ can help us with our attunement by providing miraculous healing of our mind, emotions, and body (see the scriptures for all the accounts of Jesus Christ healing people- body, mind and spirit). At the same time, through our attunement, we can become more aware of the Atonement and its power in our lives. Neither process occurs without our active engagement. Attunement requires us to explore and align within, and the Atonement requires faith and seeking God’s help.

Why This Matters
Understanding the difference between attunement and atonement can help clarify how different types of healing fit into your journey.
What I do focuses on attunement—helping you align with your mind and emotions.
This foundational healing prepares you for the deeper, eternal healing that comes through God and His divine power. I have no authority to do spiritual healing for you. I caution all my friends never to misplace or misuse spiritual authority. I also know the beauty and healing found in a relationship with God who does have the authority to heal your spirit. And with all my heart, I would invite you to explore that relationship.
Layers of Healing: "The spirit and the body are the soul of man." ~ D&C 88:15
Biological Awareness (Attunement- choosing to access the gift of grace you can give yourself): Awareness of your mind, body, energy, and emotions- and their interconnectedness. Such awareness give us access to emotional and mental healing through engaging the conscious and subconscious mind.
Soul Awareness: Awareness that you're a spirit have a biological experience. Such awareness fills you with reverence and gratitude for your body. It fills you with hope and stirrings of faith in an even broader sense of identity, connection, and purpose- a supposition that there may be more to learn concerning life's meaning, God’s laws, your divine identity, and eternal truths and healing.
Spiritual Awareness (Atonement- chooosing to access the gift of grace only Jesus Christ can give you): Awareness of your spiritual self and your relationship with God. Restoration through God's healing results in spiritual transformation through Jesus Christ.
Where Do We Begin Healing?
Attunement: Let's explore the mind and emotions together through guided techniques like EFT and facilitate emotional healing with techniques like RCT. This is your journey. My role is to help you find clarity and alignment for yourself, as your own authority—the first step to restorative healing and soul connection.
